Disaster and Emergency Preparedness for Vulnerable Older Adults Project Team:
Presented by Carya and Alberta Health Services:
Our first speaker will talk about; Emergency preparedness using a step-by-step approach to create a personalized preparedness kit while focusing on the importance of emotional wellness and social connections. The intent of this presentation is to encourage individuals to discuss, explore, discover, and develop their own personal emergency plans.

Our second speaker will be Nigro Manucci Law:
They will be helping older adults and their families prepare for the end of life financially. The presentation will answer many questions about
- how to choose your Executor – 10 things you should consider
- what is the difference between a power of attorney and personal care directive
- basics about writing your will – how to avoid problems
- Is it time to redo your Will – walk them through why it may be time
Our final speaker will be from Connelly Mckinnely Funeral Homes
Their presentation will help families preplan their funerals or celebration of life. Families who are grieving are susceptible to making quick and uninformed decisions because they are not in the best mindset. Being prepared can help all families to make better tributes for their loved one. They are required to make over 72 decisions within 72 hours and when they have absolutely no idea what you may have wanted or what funds are available, this just adds to the already overwhelming stressful situation.
They have many planning tools and information that will help your family answer all the questions you have in order to make a wise decision in a safe atmosphere.
