EVENT DESCRIPTION
Winter is here! Get ready for our exciting Active Aging event that’s all about connections, new experiences, and surprises! Come learn how you can stay active, engaged, and connected with your community at our Active Aging event on December 4th, 2023!
As the snowflakes start to fall and the temperatures drop, it’s the perfect time to find new ways to stay active, make friends, and learn about all the incredible events, classes, and programs available right in your local area. Our Active Aging event is your one-stop opportunity to talk to the organizations that are providing an abundance of activities here in Strathcona County!

WHAT TO EXPECT
- Guest Speakers: Connect with County staff, organizations, and senior centers that offer a wide range of classes and programs designed for seniors. Learn about everything from arts and crafts workshops to dance classes, fitness programs, and educational seminars. See what programs are being offered daily at the seniors’ centres and meet organizations who are offering volunteer opportunities.
- Community Resource Fair: There will also be an opportunity to meet with our guest speakers and other organizations to learn more about what they offer.
- Loot bags & Door Prizes: Everyone in attendance will receive a loot bag and the chance to win a number of door prizes
- Coffee, Tea & Treats: Fresh coffee, homemade muffins, and treats will be provided throughout the event.

TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION
Parking: Public parking at the Community Centre includes no-charge street and outdoor surface lot parking, and underground parking (first two hours no charge) at the Community Centre. View parking maps, rates and time limits. (Feel free to park anywhere on parking level P1 in the Community Centre. You will need to register your vehicle to park, however, the first 2 hours of parking are free)
Transit: Strathcona County Transit offers service to the Community Centre. View transit route maps and schedules.
